Kindergarten Orientation

Last night was the big Kindergarten Orientation for Allison June (and her cousin, Abigail). We met at Hilburn Drive Elementary School at 6:30pm for a hot dog dinner. Surprised to find out we had to pay for dinner...I only had $7 bucks so Ken said he would just eat later. After dinner, we toured the Kindergarten hallway and then back to the "multi-purpose" room for the program. All of the kindergartner's received a colored sticker when we entered the door. During the program they were instructed to go with the teacher holding a sign with their color sticker. Allison June wanted me to go with her, so of course I did, however I stayed farther behind the group as they walked down the hallway. She hardly knew I was there. They were going to make crafts while the grown-up's talked about what to expect in K-ville. After the program, the kids came back wearing Crocodile hats and had pictures of them on magnets saying, "Future Sycamore Creek Kindergartner". We have it on the frig!

Here are some pictures of the night:

They will be going to the same school together :)

I'm using someone else's camera that didn't allow me to rotate and didn't make time to put it in my software. Turn your head! I'll fix it later :)

Not sure if they will have the same teacher, yet. We find out who her teacher is the week before school starts. It's gonna be so much fun for me too!

After the first day of watching her get on the bus, and you realizing your "baby" is growing up, and the tears are flowing, tell me how much fun you're having then!!! Because as you're wiping the tears, you'll be behind the bus, so you can take more pictures of her going into the school.... You'll notice the traffic jam, look around, it's all mothers wiping their tears, camera in one hand, tissue in the other.... after the first day, then it's fun!!
